Planning Aesthetic Treatments Before the Holidays? Start Here.

A thoughtful timeline can make the experience feel calmer, safer and more personal.

Holiday calendars fill quickly, but aesthetic care should not feel rushed. Different treatments have different preparation needs, recovery patterns and timelines for visible change. Beginning with a consultation gives you time to understand your options, account for travel and events, and choose a plan that fits your skin, goals and comfort level.

Start with the event not the procedure

Bring the date of your important event to your consultation. Dr. Yanetsi can work backward from it while considering the treatment being discussed, your medical and treatment history, expected recovery and whether more than one appointment may be appropriate.

The goal is not to promise a perfect result by a deadline. It is to leave reasonable time for assessment, treatment response and follow-up.

Why last-minute planning can be limiting

Even treatments commonly described as minimally invasive can involve temporary redness, tenderness, swelling, bruising, peeling or sun-sensitivity. Some treatments also work gradually or are commonly planned as a series. Your individual response cannot be predicted from someone else’s experience.

Starting early gives you more room to choose thoughtfully instead of selecting a treatment simply because it appears to fit a short timeline.

Treatment planning at a glance

Shorter-term planning

Examples to discuss

Neurotoxins, fillers or selected skincare treatments

Important considerations

Possible swelling or bruising, prior treatment response and follow-up

Planning mindset

Allow a buffer before photographs, travel and major gatherings

What to expect

STiming and response vary; your provider should guide the schedule

Longer-term planning

Examples to discuss

IPL, chemical peels, Morpheus8®, microneedling or biostimulators

Important considerations

Skin preparation, sun exposure, healing time and treatment series

Planning mindset

Begin earlier when results develop gradually or sessions are spaced

What to expect

The appropriate schedule depends on the treatment and your skin

What should you bring to your consultation?

A useful holiday consultation is about more than choosing a date. Be ready to explain what you would like to address, whether you want a subtle refresh or a longer-term plan, and how much recovery time you can realistically accommodate. Share all medications, supplements, allergies, prior procedures and recent sun exposure.

Your planning checklist:

  • Your event, travel and photography dates

  • Your primary concern and desired outcome

  • Previous treatments and how you responded

  • Current medications and supplements

  • Recent or planned sun exposure

  • Your comfort with redness, swelling or peeling

  • Time available for follow-up appointments

Why consultation comes before the calendar

Treatment suitability cannot be determined by an event date alone. Dr. Yanetsi should first evaluate your anatomy or skin, understand your goals and review safety considerations. Sometimes the best recommendation is a different treatment, a simpler plan or waiting until after the event.
